K&H Cast Products is based in Huddersfield West Yorkshire. Incorporated within Kilner & Hutchinson ltd, we are probably one of the only UK Iron Foundries manufacturing & supplying cast iron fire backs and fire grates to the solid fuel fire user.
All of our castings are produced on site here in our Huddersfield foundry, not imported from Poland, China or India as many are. Therefore we can offer cheaper prices on our large range of quality fire backs, from traditional to modern, plain or patterned.
Why use a fire back?
Traditionally the fire back plate acts as a heat retainer, by absorbing the heat from the fire and redirecting it out into your room instead of losing the heat up the chimney. It also protects the brick work in the fireplace, let alone being an attractive feature to an open fire.
